Lucknow Teenager Allegedly Murders Father Over NEET Pressure, Dismembers Body in Horrific Crime

In a shocking and gruesome incident that has sent shockwaves through Lucknow, a teenager allegedly shot dead his 49-year-old father, a pathology lab owner, at their Aashiana residence in the early hours of February 20. Police stated on Monday that the accused then dismembered the body and attempted to dispose of the remains in parts, in a chilling attempt to conceal the crime.

Intercepted by Police Patrol While Disposing Torso

The accused, identified as Akshat, was intercepted by a vigilant police patrol while allegedly trying to get rid of the remaining torso of his father. After sustained and rigorous questioning by officers, he broke down and confessed to the horrific patricide, according to police officials. This interception proved crucial in unraveling the macabre details of the case.

Heated Argument Over NEET Exam Pressure Triggers Fatal Shooting

According to police investigators, the tragic incident unfolded around 4:30 AM following a heated and intense argument between father and son. The confrontation allegedly centered on immense pressure to clear the highly competitive National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). In a sudden and uncontrollable fit of rage, Akshat allegedly picked up his father’s licensed rifle and fired at him inside a third-floor room of their house.

Forensic evidence recovered from the scene indicates the shot was fired at close range, with a ricochet bullet later found in the room. Both the rifle and the bullet have been sent for detailed forensic examination to corroborate the sequence of events. Police confirmed that the accused’s sister, a Class XI student, was present at home during the shooting. He allegedly threatened her and sternly warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone.

Gruesome Dismemberment and Attempted Disposal of Body Parts

After the fatal shooting, the teenager allegedly dragged his father’s body from the third floor down to the ground floor of the residence. There, in a cold and calculated move, he dismembered the corpse in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence and make disposal easier. Some of the body parts were packed into his personal car.

He then drove to Sadrauna, a relatively isolated and remote area on the outskirts of Lucknow, where he dumped several parts, including the head, which remains missing and is yet to be recovered by search teams. The remaining torso was stuffed into a large blue plastic drum and kept hidden inside a room in the house. Police stated he intended to dispose of this part later under the cover of darkness.

Missing Complaint Lodged by Accused to Mislead Investigators

In a cunning bid to avert suspicion and mislead authorities, Akshat himself lodged a formal missing person complaint, falsely claiming that his father had gone missing on February 20. However, his plan began to unravel on Monday evening when, while allegedly attempting to transport and dispose of the remaining torso, he was stopped by an alert police patrol for suspicious and erratic activity.

“He was in the very process of getting rid of the body part when we intervened. His inconsistent and evasive statements immediately raised red flags. Strict and persistent interrogation ultimately led to his full confession,” said DCP (Central Zone) Vikrant Vir, detailing the breakthrough.

Police subsequently conducted a raid on the house with the accused in custody and recovered the blue drum containing the mutilated remains. Forensic teams have meticulously examined bloodstains in the house and the car used for transport. Intensive search operations are currently underway in the Sadrauna area to locate and recover the missing body parts.

Family Background and Alleged Motive Behind the Crime

Police revealed that the victim was originally from Jalaun district. His wife passed away nine years ago. The family comprises a daughter studying in Class XI and another son who is serving in the Uttar Pradesh Police, currently posted at the secretariat. The victim’s father is a retired policeman, adding a layer of tragedy to the law enforcement connection.

Investigators disclosed that Akshat was managing a liquor store run by his father and was paid a monthly salary of Rs 17,000, but was reportedly unhappy with his situation. He had scored well in his Class XII examinations, and his father allegedly harbored strong aspirations for him to crack the NEET exam and pursue a prestigious medical career, creating significant academic and familial pressure.

Police emphasized that a thorough and detailed investigation is actively underway to reconstruct the full and precise sequence of events and to definitively establish the exact motive behind this brutal and premeditated crime. The case continues to develop as more forensic and testimonial evidence is gathered.
