A resident of Lucknow's Swastika City filed a formal complaint with the police after a group of unidentified youths triggered safety concerns near his residence. The incident, occurring against the backdrop of a long-standing dispute over a public access road, prompted a swift police response and investigation.
Complaint Lodged Over Suspicious Activity
On Friday, January 2, around 10:22 PM, resident Kaushal Kishore Tiwari noticed a group of young individuals near his house in Swastika City. Alarmed by their presence and fearing for his safety, Tiwari immediately contacted the Uttar Pradesh police emergency helpline, UP-112. Following the call, he proceeded to the Sushant Golf City police station to submit a detailed written complaint regarding the incident.
Police Investigation Reveals Student Identity
Acting on the complaint, the police formed two dedicated teams to verify the claims and investigate the matter. Their enquiry led to a clarification that eased immediate tensions. The individuals spotted were not criminals but students from a coaching institute located approximately 50 meters from Tiwari's residence.
According to the police statement, the students had finished their classes and were moving in the direction of the complainant's house in what was described as a 'mischievous manner'. However, authorities confirmed that the group had no criminal objective. As part of the standard procedure, police are also examining CCTV footage from the area to corroborate the findings.
Background of an Ongoing Road Dispute
This recent event is not an isolated one for Tiwari. The complaint appears to be linked to a persistent and contentious dispute over a 20-feet-wide public access road. Prior to this incident, Tiwari had already lodged a First Information Report (FIR) concerning this road matter. The named parties in that earlier FIR included the former Member of Parliament from Jaunpur and several others, highlighting the scale and sensitivity of the underlying conflict.
After the police completed their initial verification and informed Tiwari about the results of their enquiry into the youths, he expressed satisfaction with the police action. The case underscores how existing local disputes can amplify residents' perceptions of threat and lead to heightened security concerns, even in situations that are ultimately found to be non-threatening.
