Lucknow Fog Accident Kills 20-Year-Old Solar Technician

A young man's life was tragically cut short in Lucknow on Friday morning after a combination of dense fog and reckless speeding led to a fatal collision. The incident occurred in the Para police station area, claiming the life of a 20-year-old youth.

Details of the Tragic Collision

The victim has been identified as Sachin Sharma, a native of Hardoi district who worked as a solar panel technician in the city. The accident took place around 11:45 am in the Sindhi colony of Hanskheda. Sachin was on his way to a work site for installing solar panels when the tragedy struck.

According to accounts from eyewitnesses, severely reduced visibility due to dense fog played a major role. In these hazardous conditions, a speeding e-rickshaw allegedly rammed head-on into Sachin's scooter. The impact was so violent that it threw the young man off his vehicle, leaving him critically injured on the road. Locals reported that the e-rickshaw driver fled the spot immediately after the collision.

Police Response and Investigation

Upon receiving information, personnel from the Para police reached the accident scene. They rushed the injured youth to Lokbandhu Hospital, where doctors, unfortunately, declared him dead upon arrival.

Police have already attached the e-rickshaw involved in the accident. Sub-inspector Munna Lal of Para police station stated that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. He clarified that a formal complaint from the grieving family is still awaited. "Further legal action and registration of an FIR under relevant sections will be initiated after receiving a written complaint from the victim's family," SI Lal said.

Victim's Background and Aftermath

Sachin Sharma was the son of Surendra Sharma, a resident of Shahabad in Hardoi district. In Lucknow, he had been living in a rented accommodation in the Hanskheda area while pursuing his work.

This incident highlights the deadly risks posed by speeding in poor weather conditions like dense fog, which is common in North Indian winters. It also brings focus to road safety concerns involving e-rickshaws. The community awaits justice as the police prepare to take formal action once the family files a complaint.
