Four-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Lucknow, Father and Stepmother Booked for Murder
A tragic incident has shaken the Chowk area of Lucknow, where a four-year-old boy was found dead under highly suspicious circumstances on Thursday. The police have registered a case of murder against the child's father and stepmother following serious allegations from the maternal family, who claim the boy was brutally tortured and killed.
Allegations of Brutal Torture and Electric Shocks
The maternal family has come forward with harrowing accusations, stating that the child was subjected to regular beatings and even electric shocks. "My four-year-old nephew was killed by his father and stepmother. They used to beat him regularly and even give him electric shocks. Whenever we visited him, we noticed injury marks on his body. This time, they beat him to death in the bathroom," alleged a relative of the deceased boy.
Police officials confirmed that the child's body, discovered at Lajpat Nagar, bore multiple visible injury marks on the shoulder, chest, chin, and forehead. Relatives also reported signs of electric shock burns on various parts of the body, with additional marks of beating visible on his back, legs, and other areas.
Background of the Case and Custody Dispute
According to the child's maternal grandmother, who lodged the First Information Report (FIR), the boy's mother passed away just a few months after giving birth. Following her death, the father remarried and has two children with his new wife. The maternal family alleges that after this second marriage, the father and stepmother began mistreating the young boy.
While the child lived with his maternal family for nearly three years, the father later obtained a court order granting him custody and brought the boy back to his home. This custody change appears to have preceded the tragic events that unfolded.
Suspicious Circumstances Surrounding the Death
On Thursday, the maternal relatives were informed that the child was suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea and had died after falling in the bathroom. However, when they reached the house, they discovered multiple injury marks on the child's body, immediately suspecting foul play.
Police were alerted by the family and quickly reached the spot. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Based on the written complaint submitted by the child's grandmother, authorities registered a case against the father and stepmother for murder.
Police Investigation and Next Steps
Station House Officer Nagesh Upadhyay of Chowk Police Station stated that further action will be taken after receiving the post-mortem report. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining all evidence and statements to establish the sequence of events leading to the child's death.
This heartbreaking case has raised serious questions about child protection and custody arrangements, highlighting the need for vigilant monitoring of vulnerable children in potentially abusive environments.
