Tragic Shooting at Tarn Taran Law College Claims Two Lives

A horrific incident unfolded at a private law college in Tarn Taran, Punjab, on Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of two first-year students. According to police reports, the tragedy stemmed from a rejection during Valentine's Week proposal on February 8.

Details of the Fatal Incident

The shooting occurred inside a classroom around 9 am, before classes had commenced. CCTV footage captured a brief argument between the accused, identified as Prinsa Raj Singh, and the victim, Sandeep Kaur. Singh then pulled out a pistol, pressed it to Kaur's head, and fired at point-blank range, causing her to collapse instantly.

Eyewitnesses stated that Singh reloaded the gun and shot himself shortly after. A friend of Kaur rushed out screaming, alerting college authorities, who immediately informed the police. The campus was promptly sealed off for investigation.

Police Investigation and Statements

Jagbir, Assistant Commissioner of Police, confirmed that Sandeep Kaur died at the scene, while Prinsa Raj Singh was taken to a hospital. The police are investigating the source of the pistol, suspecting it may be a licensed family weapon or an illegal firearm.

The Tarn Taran police have indicated that their initial probe points to the rejection of a Valentine's Week proposal as the primary motive behind the shooting. Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the case.

Family and Public Outcry
