Thief Gets Stuck in Exhaust Fan Window During Kota Burglary Attempt, Arrested
Kota Burglary Foiled as Thief Gets Stuck in Window

A bizarre burglary attempt in Kota was foiled in the most unexpected way when one of the two suspected thieves got physically stuck while trying to enter a house through a narrow exhaust fan window. The incident occurred in the Pratap Nagar area under the Borkheda police station limits during the late hours of Sunday night and the early hours of Monday.

Homeowner's Shocking Discovery

The dramatic scene unfolded when the house owner, Subhash Kumar Rawat, and his wife returned home late on Sunday night. The couple had been away since Saturday, January 3, visiting Khatushyamji. As they were unlocking their main gate and moving their scooter inside, the vehicle's headlights illuminated a startling sight: a man was partially trapped in the exhaust fan window of their house, unable to move in or out.

Rawat immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the spot. The officers carefully helped extricate the trapped suspect from the window. While this suspect was captured, his accomplice managed to flee from the scene under the cover of darkness.

Police Investigation and Recoveries

The arrested individual was identified as Pavan, a resident of Digod village in the Kota district. According to Borkheda police station SHO Anil Tailor, Pavan was taken into formal custody on Monday evening after questioning. He is scheduled to be produced before a court.

During a search, police made significant recoveries. A car key was found on the accused. This led to the seizure of a vehicle with the registration number R120 UB 3418. Notably, the car was fitted with a police sticker and had white curtains, a modus operandi possibly used to avoid suspicion while moving around to commit thefts. Preliminary investigations indicate the duo used this vehicle for their criminal activities.

Manhunt for the Absconding Accused

Police have confirmed that efforts are actively underway to trace and apprehend the second suspect who escaped. The entire incident, captured in a video that surfaced on Monday evening, highlights the audacious yet failed attempt. This case serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant and ensure their homes are secure, even through smaller openings like exhaust vents.

The swift action by the Rawat family in alerting the authorities and the prompt response by the Borkheda police led to the immediate arrest of one suspect and the prevention of a potential theft.
