Koppal Police Issue Urgent Public Notification for Missing Persons

In a concerning development from Karnataka's Koppal district, local police authorities have issued a public notification regarding five individuals who have gone missing from different locations within the district. The missing persons include three women and two minor boys, prompting an intensive search operation across the region.

Details of Missing Women from Gangavathi Taluk

According to official police statements, the first case involves Galemma, a 47-year-old woman who is the wife of Pampapati and resides in Tirumalapur village within Gangavathi taluk. She has been missing since September 30, 2025, after informing her family that she would visit a neighboring village but failing to return home.

The second case concerns Sudha Hussainappa Kenchappanavar, aged 23, from Herur village in the same Gangavathi taluk. She went missing on the morning of December 25, 2025, under circumstances that remain unclear to investigators.

A third woman, Rajeshwari, 22 years old and wife of Yogaraj, has also been reported missing from Vidyanagar in Gangavathi taluk. Police are treating all three cases with urgency and are examining potential connections between these disappearances.

Possible Abduction of Two Teenage Boys

In what appears to be a separate but equally troubling incident, two 17-year-old boys went missing simultaneously from the 'Nambike' house belonging to Kalwari Chapel. The disappearance occurred at approximately 9:45 AM on January 8, with both boys vanishing without trace.

The missing teenagers have been identified as Dinesh Ningappa from Gorebal village in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district, and Kumaraswamy Yamanurappa from Maranal village in Yalburga taluk. Police officials have indicated that they suspect a possible abduction in this particular case, though investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.

Commission Intervention and Police Response

The public notification was issued following specific directions from the Karnataka State Child Rights Commission, highlighting the seriousness with which authorities are treating these disappearances. Commission president Shashidhar Kosambe recently visited Koppal to assess the situation and proposed concrete steps to locate the missing children.

Subsequently, Superintendent of Police Ram L Arasiddi convened an urgent meeting with concerned officers to coordinate search efforts. Following this meeting, the police department decided to issue the comprehensive public notification, seeking assistance from citizens in tracing the missing individuals.

Police authorities have urged anyone with information about these missing persons to come forward immediately. The notification emphasizes that even seemingly insignificant details could prove crucial in locating these individuals and reuniting them with their families.
