In a shocking incident in Kolkata, a computer training centre located in the Chitpore area was forcibly entered and burglarized by a group of individuals, including relatives of the owner. The theft, which occurred between midnight and 1 AM a couple of days ago, has led to the registration of a police case and an ongoing investigation into the matter.
Details of the Burglary and Threats
According to the complaint filed by the owner, a resident of Northern Avenue who works as a government contractor in education and training, the perpetrators broke a padlock to gain access to the institute. They proceeded to steal 10 computer sets along with various computer accessories and other parts. The stolen equipment was reportedly being used for a government training program, and the loss has severely disrupted the owner's ability to fulfill his contractual obligations, valued at approximately Rs 15,00,000.
The situation escalated when the owner's wife became aware of the incident and attempted to prevent the accused from fleeing with the stolen items. In response, the group threatened and verbally abused her, using words that insulted her modesty. Additionally, they threatened to kill the complainant and made attempts to vandalize the room before escaping.
Police Response and Legal Action
Following the complaint, police at the Chitpore police station registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections 330, 305, 79, 351(3), and 54. A separate police note indicated that the allegations prima facie appear to be true and warrant a detailed verification through a proper enquiry. Authorities have sought permission to conduct this enquiry to determine the full facts behind the complaint.

The complainant has expressed serious concerns about the repercussions of this incident. He fears that the disruption caused by the theft could lead to blacklisting, financial losses, and reputational damage due to his inability to complete the government training program.
