An officer involved in the investigation stated, "An old rivalry could be the motive. It does not seem to be the fallout of a dispute over fares." Following the stabbing, Adhikary was promptly taken to NRS Hospital for medical attention. He received necessary treatment and was later discharged, indicating that his injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.
