In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Kerala police launched a statewide special drive as part of Operation D-Hunt on Monday, resulting in the arrest of 48 individuals and the registration of 43 cases for possession of prohibited substances. During the intensive operation, authorities checked a total of 1,211 people suspected of involvement in drug-related activities across the state.

Enhanced Anti-Narcotics Infrastructure and Confidential Reporting
To bolster anti-narcotics measures, Kerala has established a 24-hour anti-narcotics control room to facilitate the reporting of drug trafficking information. The public can contact this dedicated cell at 9497927797, with assurances that all information provided will be kept strictly confidential. This initiative aims to encourage community involvement in combating drug crimes.
At the state level, several specialized units are functioning under the direct supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order. These include:
- The anti-narcotics intelligence cell
- The NDPS coordination cell
- Range-based anti-narcotics intelligence cells
These cells work collaboratively to enhance intelligence gathering, coordination, and enforcement actions against drug trafficking networks. The operation reflects a proactive approach to addressing the drug menace through systematic checks and robust legal frameworks.
