Kanpur Teen Allegedly Raped by Social Media Acquaintance in Sachendi Area

A distressing incident has been reported from Kanpur, where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth she had befriended through social media platforms. The crime took place within the jurisdiction of the Sachendi police station, sending shockwaves through the local community and highlighting the dangers of online interactions.

Details of the Alleged Assault

According to police officials, the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon near Kisannagar, close to an under-construction building. The accused, identified as Vishal Kamal, a resident of Bhagwantpur in Sachendi, had reportedly befriended the minor girl approximately one month ago. Their initial online conversations soon progressed to phone calls, establishing a deceptive rapport.

On the day of the incident, the youth allegedly lured the girl under the pretext of dropping her at her aunt's house. Instead, he took her to a deserted location where the heinous act was committed. The survivor, who lives with her mother after her father passed away a few years ago, later filed a formal complaint at the Sachendi police station.

Police Investigation and Search for Accused

Sachendi inspector Dinanath Mishra confirmed that a report has been registered based on the survivor's complaint. The police are actively searching for Vishal Kamal, who is currently evading authorities. Inspector Mishra assured that the accused will be arrested soon, and appropriate legal action will be taken to ensure justice for the victim.

This case underscores the critical need for vigilance regarding social media interactions, especially involving minors. Authorities are urging parents and guardians to monitor online activities and educate young individuals about potential risks associated with digital friendships.
