Kanpur Criminal with Over 30 Cases Nabbed in Auraiya Police Encounter
A dangerous criminal facing more than 30 criminal cases was apprehended along with his two associates after a dramatic encounter with Bidhuna police in Auraiya district on Friday morning. The incident unfolded during a routine vehicle checking operation near Sahaspur village, leading to a tense exchange of gunfire.
Police Alertness Leads to Dramatic Confrontation
Circle Officer P Puneet Mishra stated that police were on high alert following a recent mobile snatching incident in the Bidhuna area. During the vehicle checking drive, officers noticed four suspicious youths traveling on a motorcycle. As police signaled them to stop, the youths attempted to flee and opened fire at the officers.
In retaliatory firing by police, one of the suspects sustained injuries. The arrested individuals were identified as Anuj Yadav, a resident of Chakrapur; Yashveer alias Brahmapal Sengar from Ajajana; and Lavesh from Noorpur Kharagpur.
Notorious Criminal History and Seized Evidence
Police revealed that Anuj Yadav had more than 30 criminal cases registered against him, marking him as a particularly dangerous offender. From the arrested suspects, authorities recovered significant evidence including one looted mobile phone, two country-made pistols, three cartridges, and the motorcycle used in the incident.
Specifically, Anuj Yadav was found in possession of a looted mobile phone, a country-made pistol, two cartridges, and the bike. Yashveer Sengar was carrying a country-made pistol and one cartridge at the time of arrest.
Medical Treatment and Ongoing Investigation
The injured suspect, Anuj Yadav, was initially admitted to CHC Bidhuna for medical attention before being referred to the district hospital in Auraiya for further treatment. Police confirmed that all three individuals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in theft cases following the encounter.
Interrogation of the two uninjured suspects is currently underway as authorities work to uncover additional details about their criminal activities and potential connections to other cases. The swift police action demonstrates continued vigilance against criminal elements in the region.
