Kenneth Apprehended After Four-Day Chase
Kenneth, the prime suspect in the brutal triple murder in K R Puram, Bengaluru, was finally arrested at a beach in Puducherry on Thursday, ending a four-day manhunt. The arrest came after a coordinated effort by Bengaluru and Puducherry police teams.
According to police sources, Kenneth had managed to evade capture after allegedly separating from his accomplice, Shwetha, following their escape on his motorcycle from Bengaluru. The duo had fled the city immediately after the crime, which occurred on June 22.
Details of the Escape and Arrest
Kenneth and Shwetha were last seen on June 23 heading towards Tamil Nadu. Police tracked the motorcycle to a village near the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border, but the suspects had already switched vehicles. Shwetha was arrested on June 25 in Chennai, but Kenneth remained at large until his arrest at a secluded beach in Puducherry.
“He was trying to board a fishing boat to escape to Sri Lanka when our team apprehended him,” said a senior police officer. “He had changed his appearance and was carrying a fake ID.”
Background of the Crime
The triple murder took place on June 22 in a residential area in K R Puram. The victims were identified as a local businessman and two of his family members. Kenneth, believed to be a former employee of the businessman, had a history of disputes with the victims. Police have recovered the murder weapon and Kenneth’s motorcycle from a hideout in Puducherry.
“We are interrogating Kenneth to ascertain the motive and any possible accomplices,” added the officer. “Shwetha’s role is also under investigation.”
Impact and Next Steps
The arrest has brought relief to the local community, which had been on edge since the crime. Kenneth will be produced before a court in Bengaluru on Friday and remanded to police custody for further questioning.
