Jaipur Lawyer Kidnapped and Family Extorted Following Road Rage Incident
Police in Jaipur reported a shocking case where a simple road rage incident spiraled into serious crimes. A lawyer faced assault, kidnapping, and his family received extortion demands. The Sanganer police acted swiftly to rescue the victim and arrest seven suspects.
Road Rage Escalates into Violent Crime
The incident began late on January 10. Lawyer Mandvendra Singh was driving towards Mansarovar when his car brushed against another vehicle. A brief verbal argument followed. The situation quickly turned dangerous as the other driver and his associates chased Singh to a dead end near Royal Avenue in Sitabadi.
At that location, the accused individuals assaulted Singh. They forced him into their car and drove away to Lalsoth village in Dausa. This marked the start of a terrifying ordeal for the lawyer and his family.
Kidnappers Demand Money from Family
While held captive, the kidnappers forced Singh to call his family. They demanded Rs 16,000 to cover the damage to their car. The accused sent a QR code to the lawyer's wife, and she transferred the amount. However, the demands did not stop there. The kidnappers began asking for more money, putting immense pressure on the family.
Fearing for Singh's safety, the family finally approached the Sanganer police station on Sunday. They filed a formal complaint detailing the kidnapping and extortion attempts.
Police Launch Rescue Operation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Sanjeev Nain stated that a team was immediately dispatched to Dausa. Their mission was clear: rescue the lawyer and apprehend the accused. The operation proved successful. Police rescued Singh from the village and arrested all seven individuals involved in the crime.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had driven to Jaipur from Dausa on the night of January 10. They were in the city for a party when the road rage incident occurred.
