A horrific incident of sexual violence has shaken Morena district in Madhya Pradesh, where a three-month-old infant girl was allegedly raped by a close family member. The crime, which occurred within the confines of their own home on Tuesday, has led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male relative.
Chilling Details of the Assault
The police report states that the alleged assault took place between 10:30 am and 11:00 am on Tuesday. At the time, the baby was under the care of her grandmother. The accused, who resides in the same household, reportedly took the child to another room. This action was carried out despite clear objections raised by other family members present.
The situation turned grave when the family was alerted by the infant's distressed cries. Rushing to the room, they discovered the baby bleeding. The family immediately took the critically injured infant to the Morena district hospital for emergency medical attention.
Critical Medical Condition and Legal Action
Doctors at the district hospital assessed the baby's condition as critical and indicated that surgical intervention might be necessary. Given the severity of her injuries, she was urgently referred to a medical facility in Gwalior for advanced treatment and closer supervision.
Providing an update on the case, Superintendent of Police Samir Saurabh confirmed the swift legal response. "We have arrested the suspect and sent him to jail. The survivor was sent to Gwalior for sonography to examine internal injuries. She is stable now and under constant medical supervision," stated the SP.
Investigations have revealed a disturbing detail: the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Law enforcement has booked him under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
