Indore Police Nab Suspect with MD Drugs in Late-Night Operation
Kanadia police in Indore conducted a successful late-night operation on Monday. They arrested a 27-year-old man and seized a significant quantity of MD drugs. The narcotics had an estimated street value of around Rs 65,000.
Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Arrest
Police officers were on routine patrol near Phoenix Mall Road. The team noticed an SUV parked in a suspicious manner on the main road. This immediately raised their alertness.
Officers approached the vehicle for a standard check. They observed a man inside who appeared visibly uneasy upon seeing the police. The team decided to stop him for questioning.
Discovery of Narcotics and Identification
The suspect was identified as Abaan Shakil. He is a resident of Koh-e-Fiza Colony in Bhopal. During the initial interaction, police found a transparent pouch in his possession.
Officers inspected the pouch carefully. They discovered a white substance inside. Preliminary testing confirmed the material was MD drugs. The total weight was measured at 5.15 grams.
Vehicle Seizure and Legal Action
Police authorities impounded the SUV used by the accused. They believe he utilized this vehicle to transport and supply narcotic substances within Indore city limits.
Following the seizure, Kanadia police station registered a formal case against Abaan Shakil. The charges fall under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Ongoing Investigation and Interrogation
Senior police officers are leading the investigation. They are questioning the accused in detail to uncover crucial information.
The primary focus is to ascertain the exact source of the MD drugs. Investigators also aim to identify other individuals potentially involved in the supply network. This operation represents a significant step in disrupting local narcotics distribution channels.
