Indore Petrol Pump Worker Killed in Horrific Dragging Incident Over Unpaid Fuel Bill
A tragic and shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the death of a young petrol pump worker. According to police reports, the victim, identified as 22-year-old Rohit Parmar, was killed after a car driver who refused to pay for fuel allegedly dragged him with his moving vehicle.
Details of the Fatal Confrontation
The incident occurred at approximately 4 am at a petrol pump located within the jurisdiction of the Sanwer police station area. Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Devendra Singh Dhurve provided details based on preliminary investigations and CCTV footage analysis.
After having his car filled with petrol worth Rs 4,000, the driver reportedly refused to make the payment and began to drive away. When Rohit Parmar reached through the car window to demand the payment, the driver allegedly grabbed his hand, rolled up the window, and accelerated, dragging the young worker for a considerable distance.
The violent dragging resulted in fatal injuries, and Rohit Parmar succumbed to his wounds at the scene. Eyewitness accounts suggest there were four to five individuals inside the car at the time of the incident.
Police Investigation and Public Outcry
Police officials have registered a case against the unidentified car driver under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, as per the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A manhunt is currently underway to locate and apprehend the accused.
"The CCTV footage shows the car heading towards Ujjain after the incident. However, the car's registration number is not clearly visible in the footage," stated SDO Devendra Singh Dhurve, highlighting a challenge in the investigation.
The brutal nature of the crime has sparked significant anger among local residents, who are demanding the immediate arrest of the culprit. Community members have expressed outrage over the senseless violence that claimed the life of a young worker simply performing his duties.
