Indore Boy Murder: Teen Lured to Terrace, Killed, Hidden Under Bed Where Grandma Slept
In a shocking and gruesome incident that has sent shockwaves through Indore, a 13-year-old eighth-grade student was brutally murdered after being lured to the terrace of an apartment building under false pretenses. The boy was strangled and bludgeoned to death, then concealed in a storage compartment beneath a bed where the primary suspect's ailing grandmother slept unknowingly overnight, according to police statements on Saturday.
Discovery and Initial Investigation
The horrific discovery occurred in Indore's MIG area, specifically at Sridevi Apartment in Srinagar Main Colony. The boy went missing from outside his home around 7:30 pm on Friday, prompting his family to file a missing person report. As the search intensified, residents later found his blood-stained jacket on the roof and a bag discarded in a rubbish pile behind the residential complex.
Police swiftly arrested a 21-year-old suspect and detained his alleged accomplice, a 15-year-old teenager. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Amrendra Singh informed TOI that authorities are examining all possible angles, including whether sexual assault was involved, to establish the exact reasons behind the murder. Preliminary investigations suggest the killing may have resulted from a sudden, heated argument, though the precise motive remains under verification pending a post-mortem report.
Gruesome Details of the Crime
MIG Police Station in-charge C B Singh revealed chilling details of the murder. The boy was first strangled with a nylon rope on the rooftop. Subsequently, the attackers used a brick to bludgeon his face, ensuring his death. Bloodstains on the roof appeared to have been partially scrubbed away in an attempt to cover up the crime.
After the murder, the body was carried down to a fourth-floor flat owned by the family of the primary suspect, identified as a 21-year-old lathe machine worker from the Gwaltoli area. In a macabre twist, the suspect placed the remains inside a "box bed"—a storage bed with a lidded compartment—shut the cover, laid a mattress on top, and had his ailing grandmother sleep on it that night, as per investigators.
Suspect's Deception and Confession
In a bizarre attempt to conceal the crime, the suspect spent Friday night and Saturday morning walking alongside police and the victim's family, pretending to assist in the search efforts. However, his nervous behavior and shifting expressions aroused the suspicions of C B Singh.
Under intensive interrogation and during a thorough search of the apartment, the suspect eventually confessed and directed police to the bed where the body was stashed. Adding to the eerie nature of the scene, police noted writing in the dust on a car windscreen parked near the building. The message read, "Teko Marna Nahi Thaa," which roughly translates to "I did not mean to kill you" or "You should not have to be killed."
This tragic incident has left the local community in Indore reeling, with authorities continuing their investigation to uncover the full circumstances behind this heinous crime.
