Hyderabad Manpower Consultant Fatally Stabbed in Fee Refund Dispute

A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad on Tuesday afternoon when a 36-year-old manpower consultancy owner was stabbed to death by a client following a heated argument over a refund of 1,000 rupees. The violent altercation occurred near the Madhura Nagar Metro Station, sending shockwaves through the local business community.

Violent Confrontation in Office Cabin

According to police authorities, the deceased has been identified as Sai Kiran Reddy, who operated a manpower consultancy service in the area. The accused, Prabhu Kumar, reportedly entered Reddy's office cabin around 2 PM and latched the door from inside, creating a sealed environment for the confrontation.

"Upon hearing screams emanating from inside the cabin, concerned office staff immediately began knocking on the door," explained Banjara Hills ACP S Venkat Reddy during a press briefing. "When Prabhu Kumar finally opened the door, he emerged holding a blood-stained knife, creating a scene of absolute horror for everyone present."

Receptionist Injured During Escape Attempt

As the assailant attempted to flee the premises, the receptionist, identified as Laya, courageously tried to intercept him. In response, Prabhu Kumar stabbed her on the left shoulder before successfully escaping the building. Co-workers promptly rushed both victims to a nearby private hospital in Ameerpet for emergency medical treatment.

"Sai Kiran Reddy was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital," confirmed the ACP. "Fortunately, Laya is currently undergoing treatment and has been confirmed to be out of immediate danger. Her condition remains stable under medical supervision."

Background of the Fee Dispute

Police investigation has revealed that Prabhu Kumar, a man in his twenties with education up to Class 10, had approached Sai Kiran Reddy's consultancy several days earlier seeking employment assistance. He had paid a total consultancy fee of 2,500 rupees for job placement services.

Two days prior to the violent incident, Reddy had successfully secured Prabhu Kumar a position as a security guard at a restaurant located in Lakdikapul. However, Prabhu Kumar expressed dissatisfaction with the nature of the work and subsequently demanded a full refund of his consultancy fee.

"After receiving threats from Prabhu Kumar on Tuesday morning, Sai Kiran Reddy made a UPI payment of 1,500 rupees to an associate of the accused," detailed the investigating officer. "We strongly suspect that the fatal stabbing resulted from Prabhu Kumar's anger over the remaining balance of 1,000 rupees that had not been refunded to him."

Police Investigation and Manhunt

Hyderabad police have registered a murder case and launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend Prabhu Kumar, who remains at large following the violent attack. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the vicinity and interviewing witnesses to establish a complete timeline of events leading to the tragic outcome.

The incident has highlighted the potential dangers faced by business owners in service industries where financial transactions and client expectations can sometimes escalate into violent confrontations. Local business associations have expressed concern over the security implications for small business operators throughout Hyderabad.

Police officials have urged anyone with information about Prabhu Kumar's whereabouts to come forward immediately, assuring confidentiality and protection for informants. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the complete sequence of events that culminated in this fatal workplace violence incident.
