In a significant development, the district police in Yamunanagar have apprehended four accused individuals, including well-known Haryanvi singer and lyricist Harsh Bubka, in connection with the recent firing incidents at City Mall and Waryam Singh Hospital. The arrests were announced during a press conference held on Tuesday by Yamunanagar Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amrinder Singh.
Details of the Arrests and Investigation
The police action followed intensive questioning of three shooters—Gurlal, Nitin, and Sagar from Karnal—who were previously captured after a police encounter on February 8. The firing incidents themselves occurred late on February 7, targeting locations outside the mall and at the private hospital, causing alarm in the community.
The four arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Harsh Bubka (also known as Vivek), a resident of Bubka village in Yamunanagar district.
- Amrinder from Balla village in Karnal.
- Sabir from Ferozepur district in Punjab.
- Aditya from Sismor village in Kaithal.
According to police statements, Harsh Bubka played a crucial role by sheltering the shooters after the incidents and facilitating their activities by arranging money and weapons. This involvement has raised serious concerns about his alleged connections to criminal activities.
Legal Proceedings and Additional Charges
All the accused were presented before a court, which granted a four-day police remand for further interrogation to uncover more details about the case. The investigation has revealed that the accused have prior criminal records:
- Amrinder is wanted in a separate attempt-to-murder case in Karnal, indicating a pattern of violent behavior.
- Sabir is linked to another firing incident reported in Moga on February 10, suggesting his involvement in multiple criminal acts across regions.
Police officials added that the group was allegedly planning to execute another crime, but their arrest prevented this potential threat. The swift action by law enforcement highlights their commitment to maintaining public safety and cracking down on organized crime in the area.
