Lucknow: The Hardoi police have registered a case against three individuals, including a pastor, for alleged illegal religious conversion activities in Mohammadapur village under the Tadiyawan police station limits. Two of the accused have been arrested, while raids are ongoing to nab the main suspect, officials confirmed on Monday.

Arrests and Investigation

Station House Officer (SHO) of Tadiyawan, Ikhtiyar Hussain, stated that Ram Pravesh and Ram Singh have been taken into custody. Efforts are underway to apprehend Pastor Satyapal, a resident of Rasoolpur in the Pihani area. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Alkesh Singh, a resident of Panihaiyya village.

Nature of the Complaint

The complainant alleged that a prayer meeting held at the residence of one Rajesh Pal was being used to persuade members of the Hindu community to convert to Christianity. According to the complaint, economically weaker villagers were specifically targeted through these religious gatherings.

Details from the FIR

The First Information Report (FIR) states that Satyapal, along with Ram Singh of Sitapur and Ram Pravesh of Maliha village, had assembled a group and was conducting prayers using religious books and candles. They allegedly attempted to influence attendees through sermons and inducements. The police are continuing their search for the main accused, Pastor Satyapal.
