In a significant breakthrough, the Gurugram Police have arrested two more individuals suspected of being involved in the firing incident at the residence of a singer's event organiser. The arrests were made late Tuesday night, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to four.
Details of the Arrest
The two newly arrested shooters, identified as Ravi and Sumit, were apprehended from a hideout in the outskirts of the city. According to police officials, they were part of a notorious gang and were allegedly involved in multiple criminal activities. The police recovered two sophisticated pistols and several rounds of ammunition from their possession.
Background of the Incident
The incident occurred on the night of October 15, when unknown assailants fired several shots at the house of the event organiser, who had recently managed a concert for a popular singer. The attack is believed to be a result of a rivalry between two local gangs over the control of event management in the region. Fortunately, no one was injured in the firing.
The police had earlier arrested two other suspects, Pankaj and Deepak, who were allegedly the masterminds behind the attack. Investigations revealed that the shooters were hired by a rival event management group to intimidate the organiser.
Police Investigation
The Gurugram Police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case. The SIT has been gathering evidence and questioning the arrested individuals to uncover the entire conspiracy. Commissioner of Police, Mr. K.K. Rao, stated that the police are committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and will take strict action against those involved in such criminal activities.
"We have arrested two more shooters in connection with the firing incident. Our teams are working tirelessly to dismantle the entire network. We urge the public to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation," said Mr. Rao.
Community Response
The local community has welcomed the arrests, expressing relief that the police are taking swift action. Residents have called for increased police patrolling in the area to prevent such incidents in the future. The event organiser, who has been provided with police protection, thanked the authorities for their prompt response.
The police have also issued a warning to other gang members involved in similar activities, stating that they will be brought to justice. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
