Gurgaon Police Register Abetment to Suicide Case Against Wife and Lover

Police in Gurgaon have registered a case of abetment to suicide against a woman and her alleged lover. This action follows the tragic death of her 35-year-old husband on railway tracks earlier this month.

Discovery of the Body and Initial Investigation

On January 5, authorities found the body of Vikram Kumar on the railway tracks between Bijwasan and Gurgaon. Vikram lived in Badhauli village in Ambala district. Family members identified him one day later using documents recovered from the scene.

The Government Railway Police reported the body was in a mutilated condition. Their initial inquiry pointed toward suicide as the cause of death. A subsequent autopsy confirmed Vikram died from a head injury with shock and hemorrhage. These injuries resulted from blunt force impact.

Suicide Video and Police Complaint

Before his death, Vikram Kumar allegedly recorded a suicide video. In this video, he named his wife, Ritu Devi, and her lover, Vipin alias Prince Jaat. He sent this video to his relatives.

Following this, Vikram's brother, Rohit, filed a formal complaint with the police. Based on this complaint, the GRP registered a First Information Report. They charged Ritu and Vipin under sections 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Allegations of Harassment and Desertion

Rohit made serious allegations against the accused. He claimed Vipin mentally harassed and threatened Vikram. He also stated his brother felt distressed by his wife's repeated desertion. These factors, according to Rohit, pushed Vikram to take the extreme step of ending his life.

Rohit provided details about the couple's history. Vikram married Ritu in May 2015. They had two children together. Vikram worked for a private company in Gurgaon. He later brought his family to live with him there.

Pattern of Desertion and Threats

The brother described a troubling pattern of behavior. Ritu left Vikram in October 2025. She eloped with Vipin, leaving behind a note. Later, she contacted Vikram and sought his forgiveness.

With police assistance, Vikram brought Ritu back home in December. At that time, she gave a statement promising to sever all ties with Vipin. However, on January 5, she left again with Vipin.

Further Allegations and Case Status

Rohit added more disturbing claims. He said when Vikram contacted Vipin, the man abused him and threatened to kill him. Vipin also allegedly threatened Vikram's children. Additionally, Rohit reported that jewellery and Rs 40,000 in cash went missing from the house.

Police have completed the inquest proceedings. They handed over Vikram's body to the family for last rites. The investigation into the abetment to suicide case continues as authorities gather more evidence.
