Gurgaon School Principal and Staff Face Allegations of Violent Assault on Student and Mother

In a shocking incident from Gurgaon, a Class 8 student of a private school in Bhondsi has sustained grievous injuries after he was allegedly assaulted, along with his mother, by the school principal and staff members. The assault reportedly occurred two weeks ago, sparking outrage and a police investigation.

Details of the Alleged Assault

The child's mother, Sarla, a resident of Ryan Enclave, has filed a police complaint alleging that her 12-year-old son was brutally beaten by the school principal and three teachers. According to her statement, the incident took place inside the school campus on January 28. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Bhondsi police station and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.

While the school principal has not been named in the FIR, the teachers identified as Riya, Jiya, and Anurag have been formally charged. A police officer involved in the case confirmed that the suspects are yet to be arrested, stating, "We are yet to ascertain why the child was assaulted."

Mother's Harrowing Account

Sarla provided a detailed account of the events in her police complaint. She alleged that her son was called out of his class, "strangled," and forced to record a video admitting to sending Instagram messages. Furthermore, she claimed that after the assault, he was kept in cold water for 10 to 20 minutes, exacerbating his injuries.

On the morning of January 28, around 9:20 AM, Sarla received a call from the school informing her that her son was injured and urging her to come immediately. Upon arrival, the principal accused her son of sending inappropriate Instagram messages. When Sarla sought clarification, she was allegedly assaulted by the principal herself.

She described how the principal and two teachers locked the office door, assaulted her, and threatened to kill both her and her son. In response, she immediately contacted the police control room at 112. Sarla also noted that finger and nail marks were clearly visible on her son's neck, indicating the severity of the attack.

Medical Evidence and Legal Action

Police reports indicate that the boy was first taken to Civil Hospital in Sohna, where a medico-legal case was prepared on January 28. The initial examination noted five to six injuries on his body. He was later referred to General Hospital in Gurgaon Sector 10, where he remained admitted for two days. During his hospitalization, a CT scan and dental X-rays were conducted to assess the extent of his injuries.

On February 11, after reviewing medical opinions and reports, doctors declared one of the injuries as "grievous" in nature, with the remaining injuries classified as simple. Based on Sarla's complaint and these medical findings, the FIR was registered under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:

  • Section 3(5) for an act done by multiple persons
  • Section 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt
  • Section 117(2) for voluntarily causing grievous hurt

Apprehensions and Further Allegations

Sarla has urged the police to secure CCTV footage from the school, asserting that the alleged assault was captured on camera. She expressed apprehension that the footage could be deleted, potentially destroying crucial evidence. Additionally, she alleged that the school principal threatened her with influential contacts, attempting to intimidate her into silence.

In her complaint, Sarla detailed how the principal held her by the neck and pushed her against a table, causing her injury, while teachers Riya and Jiya locked the office and participated in the assault. The case continues to unfold as authorities work to gather all necessary evidence and ensure justice is served.
