A man was allegedly assaulted by staff members at a nightclub in Gurgaon's Sector 29 following a dispute that occurred around 6 am on Sunday. The victim, Harshit Bahirwani, 33, a resident of DLF Phase 3, reported to the police that approximately six staff members attacked him and stole Rs 80,000 in cash that he was carrying.
Bahirwani stated that he was beaten after he resisted the attack. He further claimed that the assailants threatened him with dire consequences and blackmailed him into being framed in a case of sexual harassment. The police confirmed that the complainant was found bleeding outside the club and was subsequently sent for a medical examination at the Civil Hospital in Sector 10.
Officers reviewed CCTV footage from the club premises to verify the incident. According to a police official, the footage and preliminary inquiry confirmed that the complainant was indeed assaulted by club staff. However, no evidence of the cash being snatched has been found so far. The investigation also revealed that the club was operating beyond the permitted hours, in violation of government regulations.
The police added that they are continuing to examine evidence and statements to establish the full sequence of events. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Sector 29 Police Station, including Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 190 (unlawful assembly), 191(2) (rioting), 223(a) (disobedience to lawful order by a public servant), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation). No arrests have been made in the case so far.
