Police investigation revealed that the accused established physical relations with the woman multiple times under the explicit promise of marriage. After several months of this arrangement, Khan abruptly refused to marry her and severed all communication channels.
"During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to contacting women through matrimonial sites and sexually exploiting them on the pretext of marriage," stated police officials familiar with the case.

The investigation uncovered that Khan works as a rental broker in Gurgaon and was already wanted in a similar case. Authorities had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for information leading to his arrest prior to this incident.
