Gurgaon Police Demolish Illegal House on Govt Land Linked to Criminal
Gurgaon: Illegal house on govt land demolished by police

In a decisive move against properties acquired through illicit means, the Gurgaon police on Wednesday demolished a house that was illegally constructed on government land in Sector 35. The action targeted a property linked to a known criminal, Kushalpal, who passed away due to an illness two months ago.

Property Built with Crime Proceeds and on Encroached Land

According to police officials, the demolished house was financed by money earned from criminal activities. Furthermore, it was built after illegally occupying approximately 400 square yards of prime land belonging to the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). This demolition is part of a sustained drive by authorities to target assets purchased with the proceeds of crime.

The Criminal History of Kushalpal

The late Kushalpal was a resident of Begampur Khatola, falling under the jurisdiction of the Badshapur police station. His criminal record was extensive and serious. Police records show he faced charges in a multitude of cases, including:

  • Murder (Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code)
  • Attempt to murder (Section 307 IPC)
  • Robbery and dacoity (Sections 392 and 395 IPC)
  • Theft (Section 379 IPC)
  • Criminal conspiracy and preparation for dacoity (Sections 399 and 402 IPC)
  • Offences under the Arms Act and the Excise Act

He also had preventive cases filed against him under the Criminal Procedure Code. These cases were registered across multiple jurisdictions, including Gurgaon, Manesar, Rewari, and parts of Rajasthan. Kushalpal had been arrested and jailed on several occasions throughout his life.

A Peaceful and Coordinated Demolition Drive

The demolition operation was carried out under the direct supervision of ACP Badshahpur Yashwant. To ensure the process was smooth and legally compliant, officials from the town and country planning department and HSIIDC were present at the site.

Security was a top priority, with police teams and the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Badshapur and Sector 65 police stations deployed around the area. Their presence was to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents. The police confirmed that the entire operation was conducted peacefully and in strict adherence to legal procedures.

This action sends a strong message that properties acquired through illegal activities and built on encroached government land will not be tolerated. It underscores the ongoing efforts by Gurgaon police and civic authorities to reclaim public land and dismantle the financial infrastructure of criminal networks.
