Gurgaon Delivery Executive Dies in Hit-and-Run: FIR Filed Against Unidentified Driver
A tragic road accident in Gurgaon has claimed the life of a 31-year-old delivery executive, highlighting the dangers faced by gig economy workers on the city's streets. The incident occurred late on January 25 in Sector 59, when the victim's motorcycle was struck by a car, leading to fatal injuries.
Victim Identified as Kabir Sheikh from West Bengal
The deceased has been identified as Kabir Sheikh, a resident of Murshidabad in West Bengal who was living as a tenant in Ghatta village. At the time of the accident, Kabir was on duty as a delivery executive at a Blinkit store located in Sector 59, according to police officials.
Details of the Fatal Accident
Police reports indicate that the collision took place around 10 PM on Thursday night. Eyewitnesses and bystanders rushed the seriously injured Kabir to General Hospital in Sector 10 for emergency medical treatment. Despite receiving immediate care, the victim succumbed to his injuries. Medical professionals confirmed that the cause of death was severe trauma sustained during the accident.
Police Investigation and FIR Registration
The Sector 65 police station was notified about the incident by hospital authorities, who also provided the necessary medico-legal documentation. Upon receiving this information, police promptly informed the victim's family members about the tragedy.
Kabir's sister, Hasina Khatoon, who works as a domestic help in the Wazirabad Dhanie area of Sector 52, arrived at the hospital after being contacted about her brother's condition. In her formal complaint to the police, Hasina stated that according to eyewitness accounts, a red-colored Brezza car had struck her brother's motorcycle at high speed. She emphasized that the vehicle was being operated in a negligent manner and demanded strict legal action against the responsible driver.
Based on the sister's complaint and supporting medical evidence, police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sector 65 police station. The registration number of the vehicle and identity of the driver remain unknown at this time.
