A self-styled godman and his seven aides have been arrested in Pune on charges of raping and torturing a woman over a prolonged period, police said on Thursday.

According to police, the victim was subjected to severe torture, including being given electric shocks and forced to consume the alleged godman's urine. The incident came to light after the woman managed to escape and file a complaint.
