Giridih Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Abuse of Minor Girl Resulting in Pregnancy
Police in Giridih district have initiated a formal investigation into a deeply disturbing case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl, who has reportedly become pregnant as a result. The accused individual, identified as a 35-year-old man from the same village, is currently evading authorities and remains at large, according to official police statements released on Friday.
Father's Complaint Details Horrific Ordeal
In a written complaint filed with local authorities, the survivor's father has alleged that the accused man repeatedly raped his daughter after subjecting her to intimidation and threats. The complaint outlines a pattern of abuse where the man allegedly continued to sexually assault the minor while threatening to kill her if she disclosed the incidents to anyone.
The case came to light on April 2 when the girl's mother noticed physical changes in her daughter and grew suspicious. Upon questioning, the parents learned about the horrific ordeal their daughter had been enduring. The minor revealed to her parents that the abuse had been ongoing, with the perpetrator using threats of violence to maintain silence.
Police Response and Legal Proceedings
Bimal Kumar, Superintendent of Police for Giridih district, confirmed that authorities have taken immediate action following the disclosure. "An FIR was registered immediately after the sexual abuse of a minor girl came to light," stated Kumar. "Further legal proceedings are currently underway. The local station in-charge has been directed to arrest the accused as soon as possible."
The father's complaint specifically notes that his daughter is approximately four months pregnant as a result of the alleged abuse. Police have mobilized resources to locate and apprehend the accused individual, who faces serious charges under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code.
Child Rights Commission Notified
In addition to the criminal investigation, police authorities have formally informed the Child Rights Protection Commission about the case. This notification ensures that child protection protocols are activated and that the minor survivor receives appropriate support services, including medical care, counseling, and legal assistance throughout the judicial process.
The case has highlighted concerns about child safety in rural communities and the importance of prompt reporting mechanisms for sexual abuse cases involving minors. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the accused's whereabouts to come forward as the investigation continues to develop.
