A serious head-on collision involving a mini-truck and a long-wheel container on a busy Madhya Pradesh highway has left one driver injured and caused significant traffic disruption. The accident occurred on the Mhow-Neemuch highway near the Malhargarh area in Mandsaur district.
Details of the Highway Collision
The incident took place when a mini-truck, loaded with a consignment of garlic, was travelling from Neemuch towards Piplia Mandi. The driver, identified as Anwar Rangrez, was navigating the vehicle when a container truck, allegedly coming from the Mandsaur side, entered the wrong lane. Police reports indicate the container was travelling in the incorrect direction, leading to a direct and severe head-on impact with the mini-truck.
Immediate Aftermath and Rescue Efforts
The force of the collision was substantial, causing significant damage to both vehicles. Anwar Rangrez sustained injuries in the crash. A team from the 108 ambulance service promptly reached the accident site. Rangrez was provided immediate medical attention at the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The driver of the container, identified as Vipin, reportedly escaped the accident without any injuries.
Traffic Snarl and Police Investigation
The aftermath of the crash led to a major disruption on the busy highway stretch. The damaged vehicles blocked the road, bringing traffic to a standstill. It took authorities nearly two hours of effort to clear the wreckage from the road and restore normal traffic flow. The Mandsaur police have initiated a formal investigation into the circumstances that led to the crash. A key focus of the probe is the serious allegation that the container truck was travelling on the wrong side of the highway, a major traffic violation that often leads to catastrophic accidents.
