Incident in Satara
In a tragic incident in Satara district of Maharashtra, four members of a family died of electrocution on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Kishan Shinde, his wife, and two other relatives.
How the accident occurred
According to available information, Kishan Shinde came in contact with a live wire outside his house and received a fatal shock. When his family members tried to rescue him, they too were electrocuted. The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of Satara police station.
Response and investigation
Local police reached the spot after being informed and sent the bodies for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the live wire and any negligence on part of the electricity department. The family’s neighbors reported that the wire had been hanging loose for days.

The tragedy has shocked the local community. Villagers have demanded action against the electricity department for failing to maintain safe infrastructure. The district administration has announced compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the bereaved family.
