Four Arrested in Nalanda for Illegal Dance Racket

Biharsharif: In a coordinated operation on Friday, police rescued four girls, three of whom are minors, from a rented house in the Silao area of Nalanda district. Four alleged operators linked to an illegal orchestra-cum-dance racket were arrested.

Rescue Operation Details

The rescue was conducted at Ward No. 6 in Silao by a joint team from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), women’s police station, and Silao police station, acting on directions from Nalanda Superintendent of Police Bharat Soni. A voluntary organization coordinated the effort.

Allegations and Arrests

Rajgir DSP Sunil Kumar Singh stated that the girls were allegedly forced to perform in orchestra programs and faced harassment when they refused to dance. Police suspect the girls were brought through an interstate human trafficking network. The arrested individuals include Roshni Kumari of Bhojpur, Anup Kumar Vanshal of Madhya Pradesh, Pawan Kumar of Noorsarai (Nalanda), and Dheeraj Prakash of Chhattisgarh, one of whom is a woman.

Legal Action

An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing. Officials from the district child protection unit and members of voluntary organizations also participated in the rescue operation.
