A shocking sequence of violence unfolded at the bustling Marketing Yard Chowk in Forbesganj town, Araria district, on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of two young men within minutes of each other. The incident, which began as a dispute over market space, escalated into a brutal beheading followed by mob justice, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting an immediate shutdown of commercial activities in the area.
Dispute Over Market Space Turns Deadly
The tragic events originated from a confrontation between Rabi Chauhan, a local "sattu" seller, and Nabi Hussain, also known as Ali Hussain, who worked as a pickup driver. According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, the two men clashed over securing their respective spots at the crowded market area. Chauhan wanted to place his wooden cart at a particular location, while Hussain intended to park his vehicle at the same spot.
What began as a heated verbal argument quickly spiraled out of control. In a moment of extreme rage, Chauhan allegedly produced a sharp-edged knife and launched a violent attack on Hussain. The assault resulted in multiple injuries before culminating in the beheading of Hussain in full public view. The victim died instantly at the scene, with his severed head falling some distance away from his body.
