Five Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur
In a tragic series of events, five individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents that occurred in the Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night. The incidents, which involved both a truck collision and a motorcycle crash, have left the local communities in mourning.
Fatal Truck Collision in Sonbhadra
According to police reports, three people were killed after their motorcycle was struck by a truck on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar Road. The accident took place near the Hinduari intersection within the jurisdiction of the Robertsganj police station in Sonbhadra district.
The victims, who suffered severe head injuries in the collision, were promptly transported to a nearby hospital by police personnel. Despite medical efforts, they were declared dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Dayashankar Singh (61), a retired principal
- Kamla Singh (65), his elder brother
- Prem Singh (60), their brother-in-law
Investigations reveal that the three men were returning from attending a tilak ceremony in the Robertsganj area when the tragic accident occurred. Station House Officer Ramswroop Verma confirmed that authorities are actively gathering information about the truck and its driver involved in the collision.
Motorcycle Crash Claims Two Lives in Mirzapur
In a separate incident in Mirzapur district, two young men lost their lives when their motorcycle collided with a tree. The accident happened around 10:30 PM near Jai Patti village on the Ranibagh-Jamalpur road.
Station House Officer Amit Prajapati provided details, stating that the victims were identified as Vivek Maurya (22) and Hasnain (23), both residents of Jamalpur town. The youths were returning home after attending a friend's tilak ceremony in Narayanpur when the crash occurred.
Both individuals sustained serious injuries in the accident. Local residents immediately rushed them to the Community Health Centre in Jamalpur. Unfortunately, doctors at the medical facility declared them dead upon examination.
These tragic incidents highlight ongoing road safety concerns in the region, particularly during nighttime travel. Police investigations into both accidents continue as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances leading to these fatalities.
