Five Men Arrested for Murder During Ram Navami Procession in Hazaribag
In a significant development, police in Hazaribag have arrested five individuals, aged between 19 and 25 years, for the murder of a man that occurred during a Ram Navami procession on March 29. The accused have been identified as Vinay Kumar Vinayak (19), Shyam Kumar (20), Aditya Kumar Hari (25), Rishi Kumar (20), and Sameer Valmiki (20). All are residents of the Gadikhana locality in Hazaribag. According to Superintendent of Police Anjani Anjan, the suspects had a prior dispute with the victim, Abhishek Verma, and an argument ensued under the influence of alcohol.
On March 29, chaos erupted at Jhanda Chowk during the Ram Navami procession. During the altercation, Verma was attacked with sharp weapons, sustaining severe injuries. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his wounds. The police have stated that the attack was a direct result of the pre-existing conflict between the parties involved.
