Lucknow: The Chinhat police on Tuesday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against two individuals in connection with the alleged suicide of a young woman in Basant Vihar Colony. The case was initiated based on a written complaint filed by the deceased's sister, Preeti Kumari.
Details of the Incident
According to the FIR, the victim, identified as Nisha Kumari, died by suicide on April 4. The complainant alleged that she later learned from residents that one of the accused had been harassing her sister for several years. Nisha originally hailed from Bihar and worked in real estate.
Accused Named
Police have booked Sadanand Shukla as the primary accused, citing allegations of sustained harassment. Aditya Yadav has also been named based on suspicion raised by the family. A case has been registered under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which pertains to abetment of suicide, said Station House Officer Dinesh Chandra Mishra.
