Case Filed Against Former Kolkata Deputy Mayor
Former Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA and ex-deputy mayor of Kolkata, Atin Ghosh, along with his daughter, has been booked in a property grab case. The case was registered on 24 June 2026, according to officials familiar with the matter.

Responding to the allegations, Ghosh's daughter termed them baseless. In a statement, she said, 'These are false and malicious charges against us. We will file a defamation suit to clear our name.' She added that the family has been targeted due to political vendetta.

Atin Ghosh is a veteran TMC leader who has held several positions in the party and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. He was elected as an MLA from the Bhabanipur constituency in 2021. The case comes amid a series of legal actions against TMC leaders in West Bengal, though the party has not yet commented on this specific case.
