Dismissed Uttar Pradesh Constable Arrested for Heinous Murder Plot in Hathras
In a shocking case of criminal deception, a dismissed Uttar Pradesh Police constable has been apprehended for allegedly murdering a beggar and incinerating the body in a calculated attempt to fake his own demise. The Hathras district police disclosed these disturbing details on Thursday, unraveling a macabre conspiracy that has sent ripples through the community.
Gruesome Discovery and Initial Investigation
The incident traces back to March 12, when authorities discovered the charred remains of an unidentified elderly man near the Hathras Road Halt of the North Eastern Railway. The body was found inside a tin shed, presenting a grim scene that initially baffled investigators. A case was promptly registered at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station in Hathras City, marking the beginning of a meticulous probe.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Ramveer Singh (55), is a former constable who was dismissed from service due to prior criminal activities. Singh allegedly targeted a beggar, taking his life before setting the body ablaze in a premeditated act. To compound the deception, he strategically placed his own identity card and personal belongings near the remains, aiming to mislead law enforcement into believing he had perished.
Unraveling the Conspiracy and Arrest
During the course of the investigation, detectives pieced together the alleged conspiracy, leading to a breakthrough. Singh was arrested on April 14, exposing the elaborate ruse. GRP Hathras City station in-charge Suyash Singh confirmed that the accused attempted to stage his own death, but the plot was uncovered through diligent police work. The motive behind this drastic attempt to fake his death remains unclear, adding a layer of mystery to the case.
Singh is a resident of the Kishni area in Mainpuri district, and his criminal history paints a troubling picture. Police described him as a habitual offender with multiple cases registered across several districts, including Firozabad, Aligarh, Moradabad, Hardoi, Mainpuri, and Badaun. These cases involve serious charges such as kidnapping, murder, robbery, and fraud, underscoring a pattern of violent and deceitful behavior.
Victim Identity and Incident Aftermath
The identity of the deceased, believed to be a beggar dressed in sadhu attire, has not yet been established, leaving questions about the victim's background unanswered. Officials added that Singh sustained burn injuries during the incident, possibly incurred while carrying out the gruesome act. This detail highlights the reckless nature of the crime and the physical risks the accused took to execute his plan.
The case has drawn significant attention due to its brutal nature and the involvement of a former law enforcement officer. It raises concerns about criminal elements within dismissed personnel and the lengths to which individuals might go to evade justice. The Hathras police continue to investigate the full scope of the incident, seeking to uncover any additional motives or accomplices.
This arrest serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by authorities in combating complex crimes and the importance of thorough investigative procedures. As the legal process unfolds, the community awaits further developments, hoping for justice for the unidentified victim and accountability for the accused.
