Ex-Bar Association President, Gen Secy Booked for Cheating

The former president and former general secretary of the Rohtak Bar Association have been booked for allegedly cheating a lawyer. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by advocate Sunil Kumar at the Rohtak City Police Station.

Allegations of Fraud

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as former president Rajesh Kumar and former general secretary Vikas Sharma, allegedly duped the complainant of Rs 10 lakh. The duo reportedly promised to secure a favorable court order in a property dispute but failed to deliver. When the complainant demanded his money back, they allegedly threatened him with dire consequences.

Legal Action Taken

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigation is underway to ascertain the facts and gather evidence.
