Navi Mumbai: A 30-year-old man, after consuming liquor, rode triple seat on his friend's bike, with the owner and a woman riding pillion, on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. Due to reckless riding, he lost control of the vehicle.
The incident occurred on April 14 around 1:15 am near a roadside eatery at Bhokarpada in Panvel taluka. The bike veered off the road and skidded, causing critical injuries to the rider's head and chest. He was admitted to MGM Hospital in Kamothe along with the two pillion riders, who sustained injuries to their limbs.
The Panvel taluka police have registered an FIR against the bike rider under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicle Act for reckless and dangerous driving.
