Drunk Relative Shoots 9-Year-Old Boy for Refusing to Fetch Water in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj
In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district, a 9-year-old boy was shot dead by his drunk uncle after he refused to fetch water for him. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the village under the jurisdiction of Patiali police station.
The accused, identified as Ramesh, was reportedly in an inebriated state and demanded that the child bring him water. When the boy refused, Ramesh allegedly picked up a country-made pistol and fired at him. The bullet struck the child in the chest, killing him instantly.
Family members rushed the boy to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police were informed, and a team reached the spot to investigate. The accused was arrested from the scene itself.
Senior police officials said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Locals expressed outrage over the incident, demanding strict action against the accused. The village has been tense since the incident, with police deployment increased to maintain law and order.
