Drunk Driver in Pune Attempts to Abduct Policeman After Multi-Vehicle Collision

In a shocking incident in Pune, a 25-year-old drunk driver allegedly attempted to abduct a traffic policeman after hitting four vehicles on the busy NDA road in Warje on Tuesday afternoon. The Kothrud resident's reckless actions prompted a dramatic police chase and subsequent detention.

Senior Police Officer Details the Chaotic Scene

Senior Inspector Raghvendra Kshirsagar from Uttamnagar police station, who was en route to Shivajinagar court, described the unfolding chaos. "My vehicle got stuck in a traffic jam," he said. "We used the hooter and public address system to clear the traffic when we spotted a car driver abusing and threatening other drivers. As traffic cleared, we realized he had hit several vehicles while heading towards Warje from Shivane."

Kshirsagar immediately alerted traffic constables at Warje chowk to intercept the vehicle. Two constables responded, with one instructing the driver to pull over. Instead, the driver accelerated, forcing the constable to grab the co-passenger seat handle and jump into the moving car.
