Two individuals have been taken into custody by the Delhi Police in connection with the alleged murder of a young man in the heart of the capital. The fatal incident, which stemmed from a dispute, occurred in the bustling Prasad Nagar area of central Delhi.
Altercation Turns Deadly in Central Delhi
According to police officials, the tragic sequence of events began on Monday. Authorities first received information about a grievously injured man being admitted to a local hospital. The victim, a 29-year-old resident of Karol Bagh, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Following this, a formal case was registered at the Prasad Nagar police station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan stated that CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene was crucial. The footage revealed three men roaming near the spot where the murder took place. Based on this evidence and subsequent investigation, the police identified and arrested two of the individuals.
Arrests Made and Motive Revealed
The arrested accused have been identified as Harsh Pawar (22) and Nikhil Pawar (24), both residents of Rajouri Garden. They were apprehended on Tuesday. During interrogation, the duo reportedly confessed to the crime.
Police revealed that the motive was an ongoing dispute with a friend of the deceased. An altercation had broken out between the accused and this friend on Monday. The deceased man and his brother had stepped in to intervene and stop the fight. However, the accused misinterpreted their intervention as an attack. In response, their associate, identified as Sunny, allegedly attacked the 29-year-old with a knife. Sunny remains absconding, and efforts are on to trace him.
Separate Case: Minor Apprehended for Assault in Anand Parbat
In an unrelated incident in central Delhi, a 16-year-old boy has been apprehended for his alleged involvement in a physical assault. This case was reported from the Anand Parbat area.
Police had received information about an assault in Nehru Nagar. The victim alleged that he was attacked by four known boys. A case was registered at the Anand Parbat police station. Following the investigation, the minor accused was located and apprehended under the Zakhira flyover. His three associates are also being sought by the police.

The Delhi Police continue to investigate both cases thoroughly. In the Prasad Nagar murder, the search is on for the absconding accused, Sunny. In the Anand Parbat assault case, efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining three individuals involved. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding street altercations and violence in the national capital.
