A shocking incident of street violence has rocked the Jahangirpuri area of northwest Delhi, where two young friends were brutally stabbed by a group of four youths. The entire attack was captured on video, adding a disturbing digital dimension to the crime.
Attack Filmed, Then Glorified Online
The assailants did not stop at just recording their violent act. In a brazen move that has alarmed authorities, they later allegedly uploaded another video on social media platforms. This second clip purportedly shows the youths glorifying the attack and making claims about their actions.
The victims have been identified as Anshu (18) and Vimal (18), both residents of Jahangirpuri. The Delhi Police received a PCR call about the stabbing at approximately 2:55 pm. The incident occurred in a lane located in K Block of Jahangirpuri.
Sequence of a Sudden Attack
Police investigation has pieced together the events leading to the violence. It began when the four accused approached Anshu and Vimal and asked if they knew a person named Sahil. When the duo denied knowing him, the attackers followed up by enquiring if the victims lived in K Block.
Suddenly, and without any further provocation, the group launched a knife attack on the two friends. The first video evidence, recovered by police, captures the terrifying moments of the assault. A woman's screams can be heard in the background as the four youths stab one victim, while the other injured person sits nearby.
Victims' Condition and Police Action
Both injured youths were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Anshu sustained a stab injury to his right hand. Vimal suffered multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his left hand, lower back, and right upper arm.
Following the recording of Anshu's statement, the police have registered a case under serious sections of the law. The charges include Section 109(1) for attempt to murder and Section 3(5) for common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Two videos related to the incident have been recovered as key evidence. The second, allegedly uploaded from one of the accused's social media handles, features the youths claiming, "We killed two people," and celebrating their violent act.
Manhunt Underway
A senior police officer stated that dedicated teams have been formed to track down and apprehend the suspects involved in this case. Investigators are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the escape routes used by the assailants after they fled the spot.
This case highlights the dangerous trend of criminals not only committing acts of violence but also using social media to document and boast about them, posing a significant challenge for law enforcement in the digital age.
