Road Rage Incident in Delhi's Ashok Vihar Leaves 27-Year-Old Man Dead
A tragic road rage incident in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar area has resulted in the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man on Wednesday evening. The victim, identified as Santosh Kumar, was a factory worker originally from Nepal who resided in the local fish market area.
Body Discovered in Public Toilet Premises
Police received a PCR call at approximately 6:23 pm reporting that a man with stab injuries had been found inside the compound of a Sulabh Sauchalaya (public toilet) at the fish market in B-Block, Wazirpur Industrial Area. Upon arrival at the scene, a police team discovered Kumar's body inside the toilet premises.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Fatal Attack
According to police investigations, the incident began with a sudden altercation between Kumar and a motorcycle rider. The verbal dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the scuffle, the motorcycle rider and an associate allegedly attacked Kumar with a knife.
"After being stabbed, Kumar ran toward the nearby Sulabh Sauchalaya in an attempt to escape but collapsed inside the premises due to his injuries," explained a senior police officer involved in the investigation.
Police Investigation and Arrests
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack, abandoning their motorcycle at the location. Police later seized the abandoned vehicle as evidence. Based on initial leads and evidence collected from the crime scene, investigators have made significant progress in the case.
Police have arrested Tanish, a 19-year-old resident of CSA Colony in the area, in connection with the murder. Additionally, a juvenile allegedly involved in the incident has been apprehended by authorities.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation
A formal case has been registered at the Ashok Vihar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The primary motive appears to be road rage triggered by the initial quarrel between Kumar and the motorcycle rider.
Further investigation is currently underway to establish the complete sequence of events, gather additional evidence, and determine if any other individuals were involved in the attack. Police are examining all available CCTV footage from the area and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the timeline of the tragic incident.
