Delhi Police Probe Mysterious Deaths of Three in Peeragarhi Car
In a developing investigation, Delhi Police are currently questioning a tantric practitioner and one of his associates from northeast Delhi. This follows the alarming recovery of three bodies from a car in the Peeragarhi area, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday.
CCTV Footage and Sequence of Events Under Scrutiny
Authorities are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage along the routes taken by the deceased individuals. The objective is to piece together the precise sequence of events that led to this tragic incident. Earlier reports from police sources indicated that CCTV footage from Sunday night, the day of the incident, shows the tantric practitioner, commonly referred to as a baba, seated in the front passenger seat of the car alongside one of the deceased, identified as Randhir.
Sources have revealed that the baba had met with all three victims prior to their deaths and was acquainted with them. This connection positions him as a potentially crucial link in the ongoing case, prompting intensive questioning by investigators.
Police Clarify Status: No Case Registered Yet
However, a senior Delhi Police official provided a critical clarification regarding the current status of the investigation. The official stated that, as of now, no formal case has been registered, and nothing conclusive has been established. This ruling explicitly excludes any detention of individuals at this preliminary stage.
"All aspects of the investigation remain open. We are actively questioning relevant persons and striving to recreate the sequence of events to comprehend what might have transpired," the senior official emphasized, underscoring the exploratory nature of the probe.
Profiles of the Deceased and Their Last Movements
The deceased have been identified as Randhir, Shivnaresh, and Laxmi. According to police accounts, the trio convened in Peeragarhi at approximately 10:30 AM on Sunday. From there, they traveled via the Ring Road to northeast Delhi, where their meeting with the tantric practitioner occurred.
Police investigations indicate that the three individuals had known each other for an extended period. Randhir and Shivnaresh were involved in the property business, while Laxmi was employed in home care services. Authorities noted that the three were in constant contact with one another.
Laxmi's personal history reveals she had been married twice; one husband resides in Bihar, while the other lived with her in Delhi. After a thorough examination of all three profiles, police have found nothing overtly suspicious to date.
Forensic Evidence and Post-Mortem Details
At the scene, police recovered three liquor bottles and three used disposable glasses near the bodies. Notably, vomit was found in the mouths of both Shivnaresh and Laxmi. Crucially, no external injuries were detected on any of the bodies during initial examinations.
Post-mortem examinations have been completed for Randhir and Shivnaresh, while Laxmi's post-mortem is still pending. The viscera—internal organs such as the stomach, liver, and kidneys—of Randhir and Shivnaresh have been preserved for detailed chemical analysis. Police confirmed that Laxmi's viscera will undergo the same preservation process following her autopsy.
A viscera report is a critical forensic medico-legal document. It records the chemical analysis of a deceased person's internal organs to determine the cause of death, particularly in cases involving suspected poisoning or unexplained fatalities.
Discovery of the Incident and Initial Response
The incident first came to light on Sunday when Delhi Police received a PCR call reporting three individuals lying unconscious inside a car near the Peeragarhi flyover. Upon arrival, officers opened the vehicle and discovered Randhir, Shivnaresh, and Laxmi deceased inside.
Additional police sources indicated that the car had been parked at the location for nearly an hour before it was noticed by passersby, prompting the emergency call.
