Constable Injured in Ashok Vihar Road Accident
A Delhi Police constable sustained injuries after a car allegedly struck his motorcycle in the Ashok Vihar area of northwest Delhi, according to police officials on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 8 pm on June 19 on KC Goyal Marg, a key road in the locality.
Constable Jitender Kumar, who is posted at the Ashok Vihar police station, was on duty at the time of the accident. Preliminary investigations revealed that the car was being driven in a rash and negligent manner, leading to the collision.
Driver Identified and Booked
The driver of the car has been identified as Oshin Gupta, a woman who was allegedly operating the vehicle without a valid driving licence. During the inquiry, police discovered that Gupta did not possess a valid licence at the time of the incident.
The injured constable was promptly taken to DCB Hospital for medical treatment. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, police confirmed.
Investigation Underway
Police officials stated that further investigation into the matter is currently underway. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident and verifying all details related to the driver's documentation and the vehicle's condition.
