New Delhi: Shooters on a bike opened fire at a high-profile gym in west Delhi on Thursday, on the same day a gym owner was gunned down in Haryana's Hansi. The Lawrence Bishnoi crime syndicate has claimed responsibility for both attacks through social media posts, prompting a multistate police probe to ascertain if the same hitmen were deployed in both operations.
Investigators are analysing ballistics and CCTV footage from both spots to confirm the structural link between the two hits.
Delhi Incident
The Delhi incident unfolded when unidentified assailants fired multiple rounds at the 24 HS Fitness gym in west Delhi, sending shock waves through the locality. A social media post surfaced shortly after under the profile name Anil Pandit, which claimed that the shooting was jointly orchestrated by 'Anil Pandit USA' and the Lawrence group.
According to the syndicate, the fitness centre, a franchise associated with singer-actor Guru Randhawa, was targeted because Randhawa was allegedly getting “too close” to actor Salman Khan, a long-standing prime target of the gang. The online post stated that they had earlier warned Randhawa to stay away from Khan, warning that their enemies hiding in any corner of the world would be found. The message, signed off with a roll call of high-profile international gangsters, also threatened “traitors who conspire against the country” with global cross-border elimination.
Haryana Incident
Simultaneously, near Fawwara Chowk in Haryana's Hansi, Kapil Redhu, the operator of Red Gym, was shot. Redhu was conducting an outdoor exercise session for a group of young men and women when bike-borne shooters arrived and opened fire at him from close range before fleeing. The execution was captured on CCTV.
Soon after, a social media post under the account 'Hari Boxer Sundar Hanshi' claimed credit for the murder on behalf of Hari Boxer, RD Dhaliwal, Harman Sandhu and Vikram Kridan. The gang alleged that Redhu was the main conspirator behind firings in Sheikhpura and Dhani Puriya, and had ignored two warnings to stop cooperating with their rivals. The post ended with a 'wait-and-watch' ultimatum, warning others aligned with their enemies that death was knocking at their doorsteps.
Digital Footprint
The post tagged the Lawrence group and allied syndicates, listing prominent overseas-based operatives, including Aarzoo Bishnoi, Tyson Bishnoi, Kala Rana and Shubam Lonkar, and mirroring the digital footprint of the Delhi shooting.
Delhi Police, alongside cyber crime units and Haryana Police, are verifying the authenticity of the claims.
Cops are also on high alert in both states as Lawrence's network continues to leverage digital platforms from foreign bases in the US and Canada to orchestrate extortion rackets and targeted killings.
