The second season of the Doctors Premier League (DPL) is set to begin on Saturday, June 13, at the Green Oval Cricket Ground in Tangori, Mohali. The tournament, organized by the DPL organizing committee, carries the public health motto of 'Say No To Drugs' and aims to encourage healthy lifestyles and sporting camaraderie among medical professionals.
Opening Match Details
The opening fixture will feature the Doctors Daredevils, led by Dr Ravinder Malwal, competing against the Blackhawks, captained by Dr Ritik Arora. Organizers anticipate participation from doctors across the Tricity area and neighboring districts, with matches scheduled over weekends to maximize attendance from players and their families.
Community Engagement and Health Advocacy
A member of the organizing committee stated, 'The DPL is not only about competitive cricket but also community engagement. Season 2’s motto, “Say No To Drugs”, reinforces physicians’ role in public-health advocacy and substance-abuse awareness.' The committee has planned short health talks during match intervals to educate spectators about prevention and support resources related to drug misuse.
